1.Art Center College of Design

1930年成立，是美国目前在设计上最权威的学院，其汽车和交通工具设计系、数码设计专业、插画系、平面设计、娱乐设计等，是其优势专业。

 

2.Art Center College of Design VS RhodeIsland School of Design

同：都是美国最悠久的艺术学院。

异：ACCD要求新生入学之前有一定的设计经验或者有其他大学的学历，所以学生的平均年龄偏高，一年级新生平均年龄为24岁，而RISD的一年级学生平均年龄为19，换句话说RISD是倾向于招收那些没有工作经验的人的。

 

3.California Institute of theArts

最开始他们是由迪斯尼集团投资兴建的非赢利性高等艺术学院，是目前美国最前卫的艺术学院之一。共包括五个学院：音乐、戏剧、舞蹈、电影和美术，并且是美国高等艺术学院中拥有艺术评论系的极少数院校之一。

 

4.Otis College of Art & Design

1992年改为现在的名字，与parsons school of design彻底分开。该校曾一度是加洲最好之一的艺术学院，由于管理经营上的问题，目前已经逐步衰退。

 

5.Academy of Art College

是一家商业性或者是“赢利性”的艺术学校。而所谓商业性，是指学院的运作目的在于商业目的，因此入学标准低。学校把通过教育得到的资金进行其他方面的投资，在美国艺术教育界中，这类的学院不算是正规的艺术学院。

 

6.School of the Art Instituteof Chicago

芝加哥最重要的艺术学院，在美国有很高的学术地位。

学院历史：二战时由于法西斯上台，现代主义在欧洲遭到扼杀，大批现代主义大师由欧洲大陆移居美国。比如，德国现代主义艺术教育的中心----包豪艺术学院的主要教员和大批学生都来到美国，他们不但带来了现在主义思想，也带来了现代主义艺术教学体系。美国不少美术学院开始设置新型课程，对传统素描、静物、人体教学也进行了改革。其中最切底的例子就是“芝加哥艺术学院”，1938年由包豪斯的中坚人物拉兹罗.摩霍里.纳吉建成的，学院全面贯彻包豪斯体系，完全改变了芝加哥以往艺术教育的方式。
